How cheap is Buenos Aires?

I'm studying abroad in Buenos Aires for the next year starting in July and want to know how expensive it'll be. I'm coming from the US and will have a cell phone and rooming paid for. I just want to know how much it'll cost for food, transportation, some clothes and fun spending etc. I'm an 18 year old male and handle my money really well. I know it's 4.85 pesos for $1 dollar USD and would appreciate any insight from experience in Buenos Aires. Thanks
